Environmental sustainability

At Corfloors, we take our responsibility to the planet seriously. We’re here to help homes look beautiful with high-quality flooring – but we don’t want that to be at the expense of the environment.

That’s why we’ve committed to making recycling central to our processes at Corfloors. Our carpets and vinyls are built to last for years, which is a good start. But unfortunately, waste is unavoidable – so the more we can do to reuse and recycle, the better.

Our green credentials

Offcut recycling

We were the first company in the Devon and Cornwall region to actively send off our carpet offcuts for recycling – as well as distributing what can be reused locally. Plus, we recently launched carpetaway.co.uk, a scheme that lets other businesses recycle their offcuts through us – supporting a wider community effort towards creating a sustainable circular economy.

Vinyl flooring recycling

We’ve been members of Recofloor for over 13 years. This service provides an eco-friendly alternative to landfill disposal. So far, we’ve recycled 57 tonnes of waste vinyl, saving an estimated 47 tonnes of C02 emissions. Corfloors MD Andy has even won a Recofloor Champion award for his recycling efforts.

Packaging recycling

As you can imagine, the flooring business generates lots of packaging waste. We have well established systems in place for recycling cardboard and plastics. It’s embedded in our everyday operations, minimising the amount of material going to landfill and helping to reduce our impact on the environment.
